Sexual harassment

What are sexual harassment, gender-related harassment and violence? The factor according to law that decides whether it is harassment or violence is the perception of the victim. The law does not require intent on the part of the perpetrator.

It is any form of sexual behaviour that is unwelcome to the person subjected to it and has the purpose or effect of violating their dignity, particularly when the behaviour creates intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating, or offensive conditions. The behaviour may be verbal, symbolic, and/or physical.

It is behaviour related to the gender of the person subjected to it, which is unwelcome and has the purpose or effect of violating their dignity and creating conditions that are intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating, or offensive.

It is any type of behaviour that results in, or could result in, physical or psychological harm or suffering to the person subjected to it, including threats of such behaviour, coercion, or arbitrary deprivation of liberty. Violence may also be based on gender.
